HOTELMOTEL is the result of a meeting of two passionate artisans - Niki Jessup and Corinne Bourget. Both two working in Montreal's leather industry, their paths crossed, time and again, while attending masters classes in shoemaking at the Centre des Métiers du Cuir de Montréal.
While Corinne gained experience working in production houses after completing her diploma in maroquinerie, Niki completed a Masters in Footwear design at the London College of Fashion. Having individually accumulated knowledge and experience in leather work and shoemaking, they realized that they share the same interests and concerns about the industry. They are both committed to preserving shoemaking knowledge in Montreal in an ethical and sustainable fashion.
Bringing their unique yet complementary strengths to the table, along with great respect for one another, HOTELMOTEL was born. Working side by side, they handcraft unisex sneakers and accessories in their Mile End studio. Corinne and Niki politely invite people to disturb the fashion industry by wearing and using objects carefully crafted with TLC as part of the slow fashion movement.
